Healing Communities through Racial Justice (HCRJ)

Our community leaders of CCPL have a deep commitment to racial justice.

The Inland Southern California region faces numerous challenges that require new approaches in leadership, strong public/private partnership, and recognition from all sectors that those who are committed to large-scale health and social impacts need to be intentional about strengthening the fields in which they operate.

The Center for Civic Policy & Leadership (CCPL) engages leaders throughout the Inland region to support building healthy, safe and peaceful communities. CCPL serves San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, with a focus on diverse communities that face significant challenges to health and equity.

CCPL is initiating the 2024 Healing Communities through Racial Justice Initiative (HCRJ). The purpose of this initiative is to increase the Inland Region's capacity to engage in and promote the racial justice movement.

HCRJ is a cohort-based program, and includes the the following requirements:

  • Agencies who apply to the RFA will commit to full participation for a 6-month process.
  • Agencies will identify a team of 2-3 members who will fully participate each month in two 3-hour learning and implementation sessions. Members must be from the agency leadership team and must include the Executive Director/CEO and have decision-making authority (we encourage each agency to include a board member).
  • Selected agencies will receive a grant award in the amount of $3,000 for a 6-month period. These funds may be used for core support for the agency and to help offset the time invested by the participants in HCRJ.
  • Selected agencies will receive and participate in technical assistance, executive coaching, and monthly learning sessions to assist that agency in their work on racial justice.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Agency applications can be submitted by any sector, including, but not limited to:
